Hadzabe & Datoga Tribe Visit

The Hadzabe bushmen reside in the area surrounding Lake Eyasi, located just south of the Ngorongoro Highlands. This region is also inhabited by the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. Visitors can experience the cultures of both the Hadzabe and the Datoga, as they share insights into their lifestyles and show you where they live. The Hadzabe, one of Africa’s oldest tribes, have maintained a hunter-gatherer way of life without ever turning to agriculture. In contrast, the Datoga are accomplished farmers and artisans, raising goats, sheep, donkeys, and chickens, with cattle being their most valuable livestock. Every part of their animals—meat, fat, blood, milk, hide, horns, tendons, and dung—serves both practical and ceremonial purposes.
